Event details
The Plain Endurance Runs are scheduled for September 19, 2026 in the Leavenworth, Washington area (14400 Chiwawa Loop Rd). The event offers the following distances:
- 100 Miler
- 100K (one loop)
The event is run as a non-profit, with proceeds going to local Search and Rescue and military veteran support groups. The 2025 race was cancelled because fire closure boundaries affected most of the course. Registration for the 2026 event closes August 31.
Course and rules
The course uses USFS trails and forest service roads in the Cascade Mountains, across the Lake Wenatchee, Entiat, and Chelan ranger districts. The route includes approximately 85 miles of trail and 20 miles of roads, with total elevation gain and loss of roughly 21,000 feet. This is a self-supported event with one re-supply point after the first 100K. Water must be taken from creeks and rivers on the course, and participants carry their food and required gear from the start or from the resupply point.
Qualification standards: the 100 Miler requires completion of a TRAIL 100 mile or the Plain 100K, or an equivalent very challenging event. There is no formal qualification required for the 100K, though a challenging 50-mile event is suggested as a minimum level of ability. Refunds are not given unless the event is cancelled; in that case some funds may be withheld to cover expenses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
