About the race
The Pocahontas Half is a scenic running event held at Pocahontas State Park near Richmond, Virginia. It features a half marathon, 10k, and 5k race, all taking place on the forested Bright Hope Trail, which offers a soft dirt and pine needle surface with some minor hills. The half marathon course is an out-and-back route completed twice with an initial detour, while the 5k and 10k are single out-and-back courses.
The event welcomes walkers and offers a virtual race option. Participants receive a finisher’s coin, technical shirt, and chip timing. The race supports Operation Turbo charity and includes multiple water stations along the courses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
