About the race
The Polish Independence Run is an annual race in Chicago celebrating Poland’s return to independence in 1918. The event takes place at Montrose Harbor, Grove 16, along Lake Michigan. Participants choose between two distances: 10K and 5K (run or walk).
The USATF-certified, chip-timed course covers the lakefront, while the 5K walk is not timed. All entrants receive a bib, custom finisher medal, T-shirt, and lunch after finishing. Organized by WPNA 103.1 FM, Polish American Mix, the eight-year-old event draws participants of all ages for a shared celebration of freedom and Polish heritage.
