Pony Express Trail Run

Website

The Pony Express Trail Run is an ultramarathon held in the remote west desert of Utah along the historic 1860 Pony Express Trail. It offers two distances: 50 and 100 miles, both run entirely on dirt roads with about 3,000 feet of elevation change. The 100-mile course starts at Lookout Campground, heads west to Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge, and finishes at Simpson Springs, while the 50-mile race finishes at the Blackrock Pony Express station site.

The race requires runners to have a support crew that provides aid along the route. The course is fast and suitable for first-time ultramarathoners and older runners. Pacers and bicycles are allowed, and the event features a friendly, supportive atmosphere with camping and a post-race barbecue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
