Pony Express Trail Run
The Pony Express Trail Run is an ultramarathon held in the remote west desert of Utah along the historic 1860 Pony Express Trail. It offers two race distances: 50 miles and 100 miles, both run entirely on dirt roads with approximately 3,000 feet of elevation gain and loss. The course starts at Lookout Campground west of Faust, UT, with the 100-mile race reaching Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge before returning to finish at Simpson Springs, while the 50-mile race finishes at the Blackrock Pony Express station.
A support crew is mandatory to provide aid along the route. The race is known for its fast, scenic, and well-marked course, ideal for first-time ultramarathoners and seasoned runners alike. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
