Event details
The PortRun Half Marathon & 5K takes place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Newburyport, MA. Both races start and finish at RiverWalk Brewing Co., 40 Parker St, Newburyport, MA 01950. The event includes the following distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The half marathon is open to ages 18 and older. The 5K is open to ages 10 and older, with a discounted entry for ages 10-12. The half marathon and 5K are USATF sanctioned and USATF certified for their respective distances. RaceJoy live GPS tracking and progress alerts are available; participants must carry their phone and activate tracking to use this service.
Logistics and services
Bib and race-swag pick-up is available race day only from 7:00 am to 7:45 am. The half marathon will have six aid stations offering water and Gatorade approximately every two miles; the 5K has an aid station near mile 1.5. Portable restrooms are provided at the start/finish and along the course or near the start. Roads remain open to traffic and local police will monitor intersections; participants are asked to stay to the side of the road. Bag check is not available for the half marathon. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and must be picked up at the awards tent; awards will not be mailed. Several public parking areas are a short walk from the start/finish; parking at the start/finish line is not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
