2026 Potomac River Views 5k & 10k (February 28, 2026, Daingerfield Island)

The races take place at Daingerfield Island, 1 Marina Dr., Alexandria, VA, on a paved out-and-back course along the Mount Vernon Trail. The route is described as fairly flat with no major elevation gains. Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual race option is offered for participants who cannot attend in person.
Race services include chip timing, a finisher’s medal, and a technical Dri-FIT event shirt. Water stations are located along the courses - three stations on the 10k at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one station on the 5k at about mile marker 1.55; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the marina. Packet pickup is available at the event and there will be no on-site race registration.
The event awards top three men and women overall and 1st and 2nd place in age groups (19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Winter Series. The race benefits the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation.
