Powderhorn Mountain Trail
The Powderhorn Mountain Ultra and Vert Challenge, held at Powderhorn Mountain Resort in Mesa, Colorado, is a demanding mountain running event featuring two main race options: a 12-hour or 6-hour ultra on a 10K loop with approximately 1,546 feet of elevation gain per lap, and a Vertical Challenge focusing on repeated ascents from base to summit (8,287 to 9,839 feet). The course traverses scenic alpine terrain including aspen and evergreen forests and mountain meadows, with aid stations at the summit and base providing full support. Participants can compete solo or in relays, enjoying a well-organized race atmosphere with music, volunteers, and awards celebrating endurance and vertical climbing achievements.
