Event details
The Providence Rhode Races take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Bold Point Park in East Providence, RI. The event offers the following race options:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- Virtual Full Marathon
- Virtual Half Marathon
- Virtual 5K
The marathon course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon qualifier. The event is R.I. Department of Environmental Management Green-Certified and directed by an RRCA certified race director.
Course and logistics
All distances start and finish at Bold Point Park. The full marathon route uses the Linear Park bridge, India Point Park, riverfront bike paths and closed roads, an out-and-back on Blackstone Boulevard, the Henderson Bridge, Waterfront Drive, a loop around the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, and the East Bay Bike Path back to Bold Point Park. The half marathon follows a similar route with a shorter turnaround on the East Bay Bike Path. The 5K runs into East Providence along Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and returns on the East Bay Bike Path. Official course time limits: Marathon - 6 hours; Half Marathon - 3.5 hours; 5K - 1 hour. Packet pick-up is available on the Friday and Saturday before the race at Columbus Hall, 3200 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence; race day packet pick-up requires a reservation. Specified parking areas are used for different distances.
Support and amenities
Aid stations are placed throughout the courses and include water, Nuun electrolyte drink, Gu energy gels and bananas; port-a-potties are at every aid station. Pace groups are offered for marathon and half marathon with listed target paces. Race amenities include gender- and race-specific tech shirts, free race photos, finisher medals for the marathon and half marathon, live runner tracking via the RaceJoy app, a post-race festival with food and a beer garden, and free post-race massages from a local physical therapy provider.
