Providence Rhode Races : Overview
The Providence Rhode Races take place on May 3, 2026, in East Providence, Rhode Island, with the start and finish at Bold Point Park. The event includes the following distances:

- Virtual Full Marathon

- Virtual 5K
The marathon course is USATF certified and serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier. The route passes through Providence and nearby communities and features historic neighborhoods, tree-lined streets, coastal views and waterfront sections.
Course, logistics and amenities
Courses use bike paths, closed roads and local bridges, including sections on the Linear Park bridge, Blackstone Boulevard, the Henderson Bridge, Waterfront Drive, the East Bay Bike Path and a loop through Barrington. Packet pick-up is available on the Friday and Saturday before the race at Columbus Hall; race day packet pick-up may be reserved in advance. Shuttles operate to and from the start area and spectators may use shuttles, with priority given to runners. Bicycling on the live course is prohibited.
Aid stations provide water, Gu energy gels, Nuun electrolyte drink and bananas; port-a-potties are at each aid station. Race amenities include gender- and race-specific tech shirts, finisher medals for the marathon and half, free race photos and live runner tracking. A post-race festival at Bold Point Park includes food, a beer for participants of age, vendors and free post-race massages. Awards are given by overall and age-group categories; recipients must be present to receive awards. The event is Green-Certified by the R.I.
