Event overview
The Purple Run takes place on March 21, 2026 at Sunset Regional Park, Las Vegas, NV (2601 East Sunset Road). The event is themed as a tribute to the musician Prince; costumes and purple running gear are encouraged. Race entries include a custom technical shirt, a finishers' medal, event timing, post-race food, aid station access, and award eligibility. Packet pickup is race day only at the start line near the History Walk entrance.
Distances
- 5K: 3.1 miles
- 10K: two laps of the 5K course
- 1/2 Marathon: 13.11 miles (three laps of 4.37 miles)
Course and logistics
The courses use the History Walk paved trails at Sunset Regional Park. The path is separated from vehicular traffic, mostly flat with slight inclines and declines, and is walker- and stroller-friendly. Course sights include views of the Las Vegas Strip, Frenchman’s Mountain, landing aircraft, and local wildlife.
Aid stations are spaced about 1-2 miles apart and provide cupped water and Gatorade. Parking is at Sunset Regional Park; the south entrance on Eastern Avenue (near Warm Springs) provides the closest access to the History Walk. All finishers receive medals. Overall awards are given three deep by gender for each event; age-group awards are by 10-year brackets and are based on gun time.
