The Race for Independence in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is an inaugural event featuring 5K and 7.5K run/walks along with various 2.5K walk categories including individual, family, wheelchair, ambulatory, and low vision walks. Held at Purdue University Fort Wayne Campus, this pet-friendly race supports The League's mission to empower people with disabilities to achieve independence. Celebrating The League's 75th anniversary and the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the event raises awareness and funds for services benefiting over 90,000 individuals with disabilities in the region.
