Rainier to Ruston Relay
The Rainier to Ruston Relay is a scenic and historic relay race held in Tacoma, Washington, celebrating National Trails Day. Teams of 2 to 6 runners cover 12 legs, each about 3 to 6 miles, starting near the Carbon River entrance of Mount Rainier National Park and finishing at Marine Park on Tacoma's Ruston Way waterfront. The course follows the old railroad grade pioneers once used, traversing forests, rivers, historic towns, and the paved Foothills Trail.
The downhill route offers a runner’s dream with beautiful views of Mount Rainier. Participants enjoy a festive atmosphere with craft beer and food at the finish line, making it a popular event in the Puget Sound area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
