Event overview
The Red Dirt Ultra takes place in Provencal, Louisiana, on February 21, 2026. This is the 10th edition of the race and it is held on trails in Kisatchie National Forest. Distances offered:
- 100K (about 66 miles)
- 50K (about 33 miles)
Registration closes on February 18. A registration discount is available through August: $20 off the 100K and $10 off the 50K.
Course and support
The course uses the Sandstone and Caroline Dormon Trail. The route includes loose and hard packed sand, stream crossings, climbs and descents, long runnable sections through long leaf pines, and a section alongside the Kisatchie Bayou. Aid stations are staffed by experienced ultra runners. Volunteers provide vegan food options at the finish and at the mid-loop aid station. The cutoff for all races is at midnight, which allows 18 hours for the 100K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
