Rockaway Beach Triathlon

Rockaway Beach Triathlon/Duathlon takes place at Rockaway Beach Amphitheater on B95th Street, Queens, NY. The event, now in its 7th year, offers a seaside, boardwalk-oriented course with an open-water ocean swim followed by a boardwalk bike and a final run. Triathlon distance: 400-meter swim, 12-mile bike (two laps on the flat, smooth boardwalk), and a 3-mile run.

Duathlon distance: 2-mile run, 12-mile bike, 3-mile run. The Atlantic conditions can bring waves and currents; wetsuits are optional as water temps are warmer in September. Lifeguards and NYPD Water Patrol provide swim safety.
