Event overview
The Roseburg to Coos Bay Relay is an annual team relay held on April 25, 2026, finishing at the Coos History Museum in Coos Bay. The event offers two team formats:
- 68-mile running relay for five-person teams
- 24-mile walking relay for four-person teams
Registration is handled online. Team captains enter a team name and pay for the team; individual team members must register themselves and provide estimated split times so the organizers can assign staggered start positions. No race-day registration is available. Proceeds benefit Camp Millennium, which provides outdoor recreation for children with cancer; in 2024 the event donated more than $3,000.
Course and logistics
The course follows quiet country roads along a river and includes waterfalls, large trees, and notable hills. Organizers describe minimal course markings; exchanges are marked with tall flags for runners and short orange-flagged sticks for walkers. Walkers and runners begin to merge in the Blue Ridge area. The Sitkum road section is described as rough; participants are alerted to drive carefully there.
This is an unsupported event: teams must provide their own food, water, first aid, clothing for varied weather, and maps. There is little or no mobile service on most of the route. A limited number of port-a-potties and some indoor restrooms are provided at designated stops; Dora Library and Fairview Church are listed as available bathroom stops. The finish area includes a donated finish arch, medals, meal and beverage tickets for participants, and post-race awards. Sponsors include local businesses such as 7-Devils Brewery and Roto-Rooter.
