Event details
The Roseburg to Coos Bay Relay is a team relay with two event options:
- 68-mile running relay : five-person teams
- 24-mile walking relay : four-person teams
All registration is online. The team captain enters a team name and pays for the team; team members must register themselves and provide estimated split times so staggered starts can be assigned. Proceeds benefit Camp Millennium.
Course and logistics
The course runs on quiet country roads along a river and includes waterfalls, large trees, and hilly sections. Runners start at the ADAPT parking lot in Roseburg; walkers start at Laverne Park in Coquille. The race finishes at the Coos History Museum (1210 N. Front Street, Coos Bay). This is an unsupported event, so teams must carry food, water, first aid, and clothing for varied weather. Course maps should be downloaded in advance because there is little or no cell service on most of the route.
Exchanges are marked with tall flags for runners and short orange-flagged sticks for walkers. There are a few port-a-potties and some indoor restroom stops (Dora Library, Fairview Church). Sponsors and local businesses support the finish area, where participants receive medals, a meal, and a beverage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
