Ruck Around the Lake Weighted Race
The Ruck Around the Lake Weighted Race is a unique endurance event held at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, New York. Participants carry a chosen amount of weight in a ruck, weight vest, sandbag, or similar gear while completing laps around a 3-mile course. The race lasts up to 8 hours, and competitors can complete as many laps as they wish, adjusting their carried weight each lap if desired.
Scoring is based on "Kz," a measure of pound-miles calculated by multiplying the weight carried by the lap distance. The event encourages strategic choices between speed and weight for the highest score. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
