The Greenville Journal Run Downtown is a 5K road race scheduled for January 17, 2026. It is the 47th annual running of the event, held on the third Saturday of January and running since 1979. The race is presented by the Greenville Track Club, sponsored by the Greenville Journal, designated as a GTC Corporate Shield event, and included in the GTC running series sponsored by Incite Consulting Group.

The race takes place in downtown Greenville, SC, with the listed place at 300 S. Main St. The course starts on S. Main near the Peace Center, follows a loop through downtown streets including W. Broad, W. Washington, Nassau, Oscar, Madison, Willard, Mayberry, Reedy View Dr. and River St., and finishes back on S. Main near the Peace Center. Packet pickup is available Friday, January 16 (12:00 to 6:00) at Fleet Feet Greenville, 635 Augusta St., and on race morning at the start area inside the Courtyard Hotel, 50 W. Broad St. Parking options listed include 75 W. Broad St., 120 S. Main St. (Poinsett Garage), and 414 River St. The race uses chip timing mats at the start and finish; chip time is used for all awards. Awards are given to top three male and female finishers overall, in masters (40+), grandmasters (50+), senior grandmasters (60+), and in standard age groups from 6-10 through 80+. There are no refunds, deferrals, or transfers, though race fee insurance is offered during registration. Dogs are not allowed; strollers are permitted with caution and should start near the back.
