Run For A Better Life 5K
The Run For A Better Life 5K is an annual event held in Washington, DC, at Anacostia Park's Roller Skating Pavilion. The race features a fast, flat, out-and-back 5K course, along with a 1 Mile Fun Run and a 400-meter Kids Run, which is free for participants aged 17 and under. Organized by the nonprofit Run Hope Work, the event supports local youth through programs combining running, mindfulness, and workforce training.
The race raises funds and awareness to help young adults gain skills and employment, aiming to break cycles of poverty and violence. It honors the legacy of the organization's late founder, Jose Ortiz. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
