The 9th Annual Run for ALD, Cure the Boys is a fundraising 5K run and 1 mile walk taking place on November 22, 2025 near St. Louis at Creve Coeur Park (Tremayne Shelter, Maryland Heights, MO). The event offers both in-person and virtual participation and allows participants to form or join teams. Distances:

The event is organized by Knockout ALD, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises funds and awareness for adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Proceeds support the University of Minnesota Leukodystrophy Center for ALD research.
Registration, logistics and fundraising
Registration is open for in-person and virtual options. Early registration guarantees a t-shirt if completed by October 22; later registrations do not guarantee a shirt. Registration fees are listed as $25 (plus processing fees) for early entries and $35 (plus processing fees) for later entries. Packet pickup is offered the day before at the organizer’s Chesterfield location and on race morning at Tremayne Shelter in Creve Coeur Park.
Awards are given for the in-person 5K only: top three males and top three females overall, and medals for top three males and females in these age groups - 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+. The organization reports lifetime funds raised for University of Minnesota ALD research exceeding $300,000. Sponsors and fundraising teams are listed on the event page.
