Run of the Dead
The Run of the Dead 2025 is a USATF-certified 5K and 10K race held on November 1, 2025, at Patton Park Recreation Center in Detroit, Michigan. This festive event celebrates the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with participants encouraged to wear traditional face paint, flowers, and attire. The race supports the Center of Music & Performing Arts Southwest (COMPÁS), promoting youth socio-emotional development and Latinx cultural heritage through the arts.
Runners enjoy a community atmosphere featuring an ofrenda altar, light refreshments, vendors, and entertainment by COMPÁS. Awards are given to top finishers, and chip timing is provided by Wolf Creek Race Management. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
