About the race
The 2025 D54 Education Foundation Run to Read is a community literacy and fitness fundraiser in Schaumburg, Illinois. The 21st annual in-person event starts and ends at Dirksen School (116 W. Beech Drive) and offers multiple distances: a 5K run/walk, a 1-mile walk, and children’s races.
Young participants can enter 100- or 400-meter dashes and other kid-friendly options. Proceeds support District 54 students, especially those from financially struggling families, with funds directed to programs for these families. Registrants receive a T-shirt and finisher’s medal, and donations or sponsorships help sponsor students.
