About the race
The Run with Joy Half Marathon and 5K is a unicorn-themed running event held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, starting and finishing at the Canteen Brewhouse on Aztec Road. Scheduled for March 28, 2026, the race honors late friends Lawrence Joy and Mike Thrall. The course is an out-and-back route primarily along the North Diversion Channel Trail.
Participants enjoy several aid stations, restrooms at start and finish, and receive a t-shirt and a pint of beer (or root beer for non-drinkers and minors) post-race. Half marathon finishers also receive medals. The event features live music, food, and a raffle for all finishers, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
