About the race
Run With Shears is an EMS-focused 5k race held in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, on the scenic Downtown Canal along the Indiana State Museum Lawn next to the Statehouse. The event offers a 5k Run/Walk, a Virtual 5k, and a Kid's Dash. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome to participate, with a fast, flat USATF-sanctioned course that features elite awards, medals, and shirts.
The race draws hundreds of EMS professionals and Midwest participants. Special features include the Kid’s 911 Yard Dash and fundraising to build a memorial for EMTs and paramedics, with timing and commemorative swag for finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
