Event information
Run with the Docs is a community run and walk held at Virtua Voorhees Hospital, 100 Bowman Drive, Voorhees, NJ. The event offers the following distances:
- 5k
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
Packet pickup dates are to be announced. Canine participants will receive a bandana. The event is held rain or shine except in dangerous conditions such as lightning; organizers may reschedule or cancel in unsafe conditions. The race has a no refunds policy.
Awards and beneficiary
Prizes are awarded in several categories, including first overall female, first overall male, largest overall team, top fundraising team, and the top three males and females in each of eight age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Proceeds benefit Virtua’s Perinatal Bereavement and Palliative Care Program. The program provides education for OB physicians and practitioners on compassionate communication, offers financial assistance for funeral or burial costs, purchases grief resources for parents and children, supports acquisition of cooling beds, presents a biennial bereavement and palliative care conference for healthcare workers, partners with Today Is A Good Day to support NICU families, assists with memorial plaques in an Angel Garden, and serves as a regional resource for affected families.
