Running of the Hawgs
The Running of the Hawgs is a 5K run and walk event held at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township, Michigan. The race course winds through the base, offering participants views of military aircraft, historic buildings, and wildlife along Lake St. Clair, finishing near the iconic A-10 Warthog aircraft.
The event promotes fitness, team building, and family participation within a military environment. It features separate categories for military personnel, retirees, dependents, civilian employees with base access, and civilians without Department of Defense ID access. All finishers receive medals, with awards for top age groups and best-performing groups.
