Running Up For Air - Moab
Running Up For Air - Moab is scheduled for April 4, 2026, at the Moab Rim Trailhead on Kane Creek Blvd, Moab, UT 84532. It is part of the Up For Air Series of timed endurance events organized by Run Up For Air, Inc., a 501(c)(3). Proceeds from this event are split between Run Up For Air, Inc. and the Youth Garden Project. Fundraising donors can designate Youth Garden Project, Clean Air Utah, or the Running Up For Air Series.
Course and logistics
The event uses a looped out-and-back course starting at the Moab Rim Trailhead. The ascent follows the Stairmaster Trail, a rocky singletrack that gains 890 feet in 0.95 miles, then returns via the Moab Rim Trail, a 4WD slickrock track of the same distance. Participants complete as many laps of the loop as possible within each event time limit. The aid station is at the start/finish and is passed about every 2 miles; it offers water, sports drink, and basic food. - Events: 12 hour, 6 hour, 3 hour (two start times), 3 hour relay
- Minimal footprint policy; cup-free event
- No parking at the event site or along Kane Creek Blvd
- Free shuttle departs from Helen M Knight Elementary School; biking or running ~2 miles from town is an alternative
- No pets; trekking poles allowed but not recommended
- No cell reception at the base; reception available at the turnaround on top; morning temperatures cool, warming by midday
