Event overview
The Runtastic FRIGID event is scheduled for January 24, 2026 at Utah Lake State Park, 4400 W Center St, Provo, UT 84601. The event includes multiple options:
- 5K
- Penguin Plunge
- 5K & Penguin Plunge
The course for 2025 was updated to include the Provo Delta River Trailhead and offers views of Utah Lake and the surrounding mountains. The Penguin Plunge takes place in Utah Lake; organizers cut a square of ice and install a safety cage around the swim area. First aid booths are available for both the 5K and the plunge.
Logistics and amenities
Packet pick-up is available Friday, January 23 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the building at Utah Lake State Park. Same-day packet pick-up is available no later than 8:30 AM at the Provo Boat Harbor building for a $15 fee. Parking is provided at the Provo Boat Harbor. An aid station will offer water, Powerade, and a first aid kit. Photography is provided on course and at the finish; bibs should be visible for photo identification.
All participants receive a race beanie and gloves. 5K finishers receive a finisher medal. Penguin Plunge participants receive a keychain and a plunge sticker. The 5K is professionally timed with timing chips attached to the back of bibs; top three overall male and female finishers receive awards and a certificate with a free entry to next year.
