Runway 5k - Dixie - Berryhill
The Runway 5K is an annual running event held at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, offering a unique experience on one of the country's busiest airport runways. Scheduled for October 18, 2025, the flat and fast 5K course takes place entirely on the runway and taxiways, allowing participants to witness planes taking off, landing, and queuing. Runners park at Charlotte Premium Outlets and are transported by bus to the secure airfield.
The event is family-friendly, with children under 12 requiring adult accompaniment. Limited to 1,500 participants, proceeds support Airport Opportunity Scholarships at Central Piedmont Community College, promoting aviation careers for local Title 1 eligible students.
