Event overview
The San Diego Santa Run takes place on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in Pacific Beach, San Diego. The start and finish are on Garnet Avenue near the Bank of America. The event offers these distances:
- 5K
- Kids 1 Mile
- Dog 1 Mile (dog wave limited to 125 entries)
The Kids 1 Mile is for children 12 and under and includes a finisher medal. Dogs are not allowed in the 5K.
Entries, swag and logistics
Registration prices listed for the event are $49.99 for the 5K and $34.99 for each 1-mile sub-event. All 5K participants receive a Sunny Santa suit (hat, top, shorts, belt, beard), sunglasses, chip timing, a custom bib and a complimentary drink ticket. Kids 1 Mile participants receive a Santa hat, sunglasses, chip timed results and a finisher medal. The Dog 1 Mile provides a bib, hat and sunglasses; the dog wave is not chip timed.
The 5K is offered in two waves; age group awards apply only to the earlier 5K wave. Top overall awards are given male and female, and standard age-group awards are listed for multiple brackets. Packet pick-up is free at scheduled locations or may be mailed for $17.50 (mail deadline November 29, 2025). The complimentary drink ticket on bibs is redeemable at Mavericks Beach Club, Tavern at the Beach, 710 Beach Club or Bar Ella; participants must be 21+ with ID to redeem. Strollers are welcome.
