Savin Rock Marathon
The Savin Rock Marathon & Half Marathon, held annually in West Haven, Connecticut, is the state's second-largest marathon and an official Boston Marathon qualifier. The challenging course features two loops for the marathon, starting with 4 flat miles, followed by five hills over the next 5 miles, and finishing with a downhill and flat final 4 miles, with about one-third of the route along Long Island Sound. The event offers aid stations every two miles and multiple porta-johns.
Hosted at the Savin Rock Conference Center near the beach, the race provides tech shirts, finisher medals, and post-race refreshments. It serves as the RRCA Eastern Region Half Marathon Championship and Connecticut State Championship Marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
