Event overview
Sawmill Ultra is a multi-distance trail event on June 6, 2026, in Lee Canyon, Mt. Charleston, within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The event offers solo, relay, and virtual options across a range of distances. Awards are given for each distance, male and female, places 1 to 3.
Course and logistics
The course uses three counterclockwise loops with approximate mileages: 5.64 mi, 8.2 mi, and 4.3 mi. Relay teams complete all three loops with each team member running one loop and tagging the next runner. A full team lap totals 19.22 mi; completing the course twice equals 38.45 mi. The staging area includes packet pickup about 45 to 60 minutes before the race and a bag drop for personal items. This is a cup-less event; participants should use hydration packs to refill at aid stations. Marathon and ultra runners receive gel electrolytes and Gatorade is provided.
Site, services, and other details
The venue sits at roughly 7,500 to 7,600 feet elevation in a forested area with native pinyon, juniper, sagebrush, and seasonal wildflowers. Food service includes hot coffee, hot entrees (burgers, chicken, dogs, casseroles, noodles, broth) and vegetarian options. Free canned beer will be available to participants over 21 with ID.
