Scenic Byway River Run
The Scenic Byway River Run is a road race in Belle Plaine, Minnesota, held on October 11, 2025. The event includes multiple race options that start and finish in downtown Belle Plaine and use parts of Minnesota’s Scenic Byway and areas near the Minnesota River. Organizers note that the Kids Fun Run has been canceled this year due to lack of participation.

Race details
The Half Marathon and 5K are USATF certified and chip timed. The half marathon route passes through downtown Belle Plaine, crosses the Minnesota River, follows the Scenic Byway with rolling hills and countryside views, goes through the Avenue of the Trees toward Blakeley, and returns to the finish via a gradual climb. The half relay exchange is near Mile Marker 8 and Water Stop 4; relay teams are responsible for their own transport to the exchange point.
The course will be supported by volunteers, directional arrows, and members of the Belle Plaine Police and Fire Departments. Packet pick-up is available before race day and on race day. Participants receive a medal and a shirt; the Kids Fun Run previously offered a medal and other prizes. Awards are given for overall male and female and top male and female in age groups for the Half Marathon and 5K. Refunds and bib transfers are not offered.
