About the race
Scout Mountain Ultras is an annual trail running event held the first weekend of June in Pocatello, Idaho. The event offers a range of distances, including a 100-mile race, welcoming runners from first-timers to seasoned ultrarunners. The atmosphere emphasizes community, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship: organizers pursue programs to reduce the event’s footprint, engage conservation groups, donate race proceeds to conservation causes, and minimize waste.
Runners traverse pine and aspen stands with wildflowers along a scenic forested course. A notable feature is that the 100-mile race is a Hardrock Endurance Run qualifier, and the event commits to broad access—at least half the field for women, femme and non-binary participants and zero harassment.
