Event overview
The 22nd Annual Sergeant Nutter 5K will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Sea Girt, New Jersey. The event is hosted by Class 69 of the New Jersey Army National Guard Officer Candidate School (NJOCS) at the Army National Guard Training Center, 100 Camp Drive, Sea Girt, NJ. The race is organized by the SGT Sam Nutter Organization Inc (SSNO), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and is held in memory of Sergeant Samuel Nutter to benefit the family of a New Jersey National Guard service member. Entry for 2026 is scheduled to open on or around November 1, 2025. A virtual run option will also be offered. The organizer states that 100% of the proceeds will be donated.
Race details and awards
The primary event is a 5K road run on the training center grounds. An awards ceremony will follow the event. Medals will be given to the top three male and top three female overall finishers. Medals will also be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers in the following age brackets: 12 and under; 13-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; and 80+.
