Sinks Canyon Trail Races : June 13, 2026
The Sinks Canyon Trail Races take place in Sinks Canyon in the corridor to the Wind River Mountains near Lander, Wyoming, within the Shoshone National Forest. The event is hosted by the Lander Running Club. The course area features wildflower meadows, river corridors along the Popo Agie River, mountain ridges, canyons, and views of snow and ice-covered peaks. Distances offered:

Courses, registration, and volunteer information
The 50K is a mountain course that begins and ends at Bruce’s Parking Area and includes river trails, a climb to Fairfield ridge, technical descents, the Middle Fork Trail, Sheep’s Bridge, Worthen Meadows Reservoir, Fossil Hill, Brewer’s Trail, and the Aspen Grade Trail. The 18K follows the Popo Agie River, climbs via Aspen Grade and Brewer’s Trail, passes Fossil Hill, and returns on semi-technical singletrack to Bruce’s Parking Area. The 6K follows the river and Aspen Grade with semi-technical singletrack; it is noncompetitive with no place awards and only finisher awards. The Kids 1K is open to ages 1–12, allows one adult companion if needed, and provides a custom race cup and a treat to finishers; day-of registration is accepted onsite if capacity (50 participants) has not been reached.
Registration opens in October. If a runner cancels at least 30 days before the race they receive rollover credit for the following year; rollover use requires re-registration before the event reaches capacity.
