17th Annual Sleighbell 5K Run/Walk
The event is on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Williamsburg, VA, with the race center at Jamestown High School. Distances and formats offered include:
- 5K Run
- 5K Run (students under 18 or college with ID; open to ages 5 - 98)
- 5K Competitive Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Virtual 5K
The 5K course uses the Virginia Capital Trail, Powhatan Creek Trail and the Greensprings Trail. The course is USATF certified and is part of the 2025 Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix. Virtual participants receive a race T and a finisher medal; packets may be picked up on December 13 at Colonial Sports or mailed for a $9.00 fee. Race T and size are guaranteed for registrations by December 2, 2025.
Additional information
A portion of proceeds will benefit after-school activities through the WJCC School Health Initiative Program (S.H.I.P.). Donations collected at the event will go to From His Hands, a consortium of 13 local churches that feed the homeless. Special activities include an ugly sweater contest and a nonperishable food donation drive. Awards will be given to top finishers across overall, masters (40+), and multiple age-group categories; finishing medals are available while supplies last.
Fees: pre-register before October 17, 2025 : $35 general, $30 students; registration increases later to $40 and then $45. There is no race day registration.
