Distances

  • 50K (loop laps totaling the distance)
  • 13.1 miles (half marathon)
  • 5 miles
  • Reindeer Relay - 12 x 2.62-mile laps (teams of 2–4)

Course, format and services

The course is a paved loop of about 2.62 miles on the former Riverwest golf course within the 240-acre preserve. The route includes rolling cart paths, wooden bridges, waterfalls, and riverfront sections. The athlete village is located between the start and finish lines; participants may bring a 10x10 canopy and personal items. Parking is about 150 meters from the event area.

Laps are timed: each loop must be completed within 45 minutes. After finishing a lap, runners wait until the full 45-minute lap period for the next start; shorter finish times create the remaining break time (for example, finishing a lap in 25 minutes yields a 20-minute break). Relay rules allow only one runner per team on course at a time; consecutive laps are permitted. Per-runner lap limits: 2-person teams 6 laps max, 3-person teams 4 laps max, 4-person teams 3 laps max.

An aid station at the start/finish provides snacks (pickles, cookies, chips, Little Debbie items) and drinks (water, Tailwind, Coke, ginger ale); participants should bring their own cup. Registered participants receive a finisher medal, custom bib, temporary race tattoo, giveaways, sticker, and complimentary race photos. Awards include top 3 overall male and female trophies and age group awards with series points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
