Snowy Owl 10 mile : event overview
Snowy Owl is a trail race at York River State Park in Williamsburg, VA on January 4, 2026. The course totals 10 miles with about five miles of technical single track, roughly 0.75 mile on road, and the remainder on dirt fire roads. Total elevation gain is about 600 feet. The event includes a paved downhill finish at the entry road near the playground picnic shelter. Packet pickup is race morning only. The event has a 4 hour cutoff.
Course, support and policies
The course includes rocky sections, twisting single track, a boardwalk, and fast fire roads. The terrain sequence includes alternating fire road and single track segments, finishing on pavement. Aid stations are located on the course and provide water and light snacks.

- Riverview - 3.5 mile
- Majestic Oak - 6 mile
All finishers receive a ceramic medal. Registered entrants receive a race logo item, a winter hat, and free park entry; long-sleeved shirts are available for purchase with a stated order deadline. Hot beverages and snacks will be available at the finish. The race benefits AWARE (Alliance of Wild Animal Rehabilitators and Educators), and AWARE representatives will be onsite with educational displays about owls. The organizer maintains a weather plan and may move or cancel the event for dangerous conditions; refunds or deferrals may not be available if the date is changed.
