Adventist Health Sonora Turkey Trot
The Adventist Health Sonora Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 27, 2025 in Sonora, California. Organized by Adventist Health Sonora’s Diabetes Resource Center, this is the fourth annual event and is offered free to participants in recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month. The event includes the following distances:

Course, schedule and event details
Both the 1-mile and 5k races are timed. The event begins and ends at Discover Life Seventh-day Adventist Church, 40 N. Forest Road. The 1-mile route is mostly flat and paved, running up Forest Road and the Creekside Trail to the Alpine Trailhead Parking Lot turn-around. The 5k follows Forest Road to Stockton Street, Washington Street through Downtown Sonora, past Sonora High School, through the Sonora Knolls neighborhood, then returns via the Creekside Trail of Dragoon Gulch. The entire course is paved with roughly 250 feet of elevation gain. Signage and volunteers will guide participants, but no roads will be closed; participants should stay alert to traffic. Friendly, leashed dogs and strollers are welcome.
Packet pick-up and same-day registration are available, and the schedule includes a warm-up, costume contest voting, and an awards presentation. 1-mile finishers receive a halfway pin; 5k finishers receive a medal and the top three men and women in the 5k receive prizes. Swag choices include a t-shirt, beanie, or athletic socks for pre-registered and same-day registrants while supplies last. Amenities include a canned food drive for ATCAA Food Bank, information and giveaways, photos with Pip the Penguin, complimentary water and fruit for finishers, restrooms, and parking at several nearby locations.
