Sputnikfest 5K

The Sputnikfest 5K Walk/Run is a family-friendly, non-timed event held annually in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, celebrating the historic 1962 Sputnik IV crash site near the Rahr-West Art Museum. This out-and-back 5K (3.1 miles) course winds along the waterfront, showcasing downtown Manitowoc's vibrant public art murals. Participants can walk, run, jog, or stroll while enjoying the festive atmosphere.

All entrants receive a custom Sputnikfest finisher's medal, an exclusive race t-shirt, a race bib, and a free drink ticket. Runners are encouraged to dress in "galaxy garb" to embrace the event's space-themed spirit. The race fosters community spirit and commemorates a unique local event.
