Event overview
Squatchywaska Mountainfest is a trail running event in Ellenville, NY on April 25, 2026. The event offers two distances:

Registration opens on January 1, 2026. There is a 6 hour cutoff for both distances. The event supports Run Wild, Inc. and its fundraising campaign to protect Verkeerder Kill Falls.
Course, gear and logistics
The courses use mountain singletrack, crushed gravel carriage roads, cliffs and glacially-polished ledges on the Shawangunk Ridge. The 25K includes over 2,500 ft of elevation gain; the 10 miler includes over 1,800 ft of climbing. The route is described as technical and not flat. Portajohns are available at the start/finish area only.
All participants are required to carry a charged cell phone; a water bottle or hydration pack (recommended at least 1.5 L); at least 300 extra calories; a whistle; and a GPX course map on a phone or device. Trekking poles, external battery, headlamp, warm accessories and a bag for trash are recommended but not required. The aid station will include snacks such as bananas, granola bars, chips and packaged cookies, plus Skratch hydration.
Six charity bibs are available (three per distance); charity bib holders must raise or donate $200 by April 23 to participate. The event does not offer refunds; deferrals are available under specified notice and volunteer conditions. Pacers are allowed for participants over 60 and athletes with disabilities.
