Event details
The Squirrel Run XXVIII is the 28th Annual Jimmy Kennedy Memorial Run for ALS, held on June 6, 2026, in Quincy, MA at Pageant Field on Merrymount Parkway. Proceeds benefit The Angel Fund for ALS Research. The event includes the following race and family activities:
- 5k run
- 5k fitness walk
- Children’s races, games and rides
Awards are given to top finishers by category, including top male and female, top 3 male and female in high school and middle school, and top 3 in age groups for male and female in ranges from 19-29 through 80+.
Registration and logistics
The registration fee for the 5k run and 5k fitness walk is listed as $40 before June 1, 2025 and $45 after that date. Children’s races have a registration fee of $15 per child. The first 150 online registrants receive a free goodie bag, and all registrants receive a souvenir t-shirt. Race numbers will not be mailed in advance and same-day registration is accepted. Bib pickup details will be announced before the event; otherwise pickup begins on race day morning. A local brewery will be on site offering samples and selling cans.
