Event overview

The St. Charles Indoor Triathlon takes place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Norris Recreation Center, 1050 Dunham Rd, Saint Charles, IL 60174. The event includes an adult race and a youth race; proceeds benefit St. Charles Aquatics and the Multisport Madness Youth Triathlon Team. Registration opens November 1, 2025. Current listed prices are $48 for the adult race (was $55) and $28 for the kids race (was $35). Wave start times are assigned by the organizers and will be posted and emailed to participants. Athletes will receive a goody bag and results will be posted in the fieldhouse, emailed to participants, and published after the race.

Race format and rules

Adult race format:

  • Swim 10 minutes
  • 15 minute transition to the bike
  • Bike 20 minutes on an assigned stationary bike (Keiser)
  • 5 minute transition to the run
  • Run 15 minutes on a track

Youth race format (limited to ages 7 to 14):

  • Swim 5 minutes
  • 15 minute transition to the bike
  • Bike 15 minutes on an assigned stationary bike
  • 5 minute transition to the run
  • Run 10 minutes on a track

  • Each athlete will have an assigned swim lane and volunteers will record distances; athletes sign a distance card after the run.
  • Any swim stroke is allowed; walking is permitted if feet touch the bottom. No outside flotation or assistance.
  • No standing on the bike; first violation is a warning, second leads to disqualification.
  • During the run, full and half laps are credited (10 laps = 1 mile).
  • Athletes must check in for their wave at least 45 minutes before their assigned start.
