St. Paddy's 5 Mile Race (Patrick E. Coyne Memorial Race) is presented by the Freehold Area Running Club on Saturday, March 21, 2026. It is the 35th annual running of the event and uses a 5-mile course contained within Michael J. Tighe Park in Freehold, NJ.
Course, amenities, entries and beneficiaries
The course runs through the park's green space and crosses the Manasquan River on a country bridge. Refreshments after the race include beer and hot dogs. T-shirts are guaranteed to all pre-registrants, and finishers medals are introduced this year.
There are two entry options: a general St. Paddy's 5 Mile Race and a St. Paddy's 5 Mile Race for current Freehold Area Running Club members. General entry is listed at $30, and the current-member entry is listed at $25. The member registration period ends March 17, 2026, and race fees increase after November 28, 2025. Proceeds support Freehold Township Parks and Recreation Special Olympics and Freehold Township Recreation Challenger Sports for Special Needs.
