All races run on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path. The full marathon is a Boston-qualifying course and has a six-hour time limit. A virtual race option is available. Course, support, and logistics
The C&O Canal path is a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change. The half marathon and 5k use out-and-back routes; the full marathon is two out-and-back segments. Water and aid: the marathon has 14 water stations at specified mile markers, the half has 7 water stations at approximately the same markers for its distance, and the 5k has one water station near mile 1.55. Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms and port-a-johns are placed near the start/finish areas for each race. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing tent but are not the organizer’s responsibility. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Awards include top three men and women overall and first and second in listed age groups; overall top finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes.
