Steamtown Marathon
The Steamtown Marathon is a USATF-certified marathon held annually in Northeast Pennsylvania, running from Forest City High School to Courthouse Square in downtown Scranton. This Boston Marathon qualifier features a 26.2-mile course with a 955-foot elevation drop, offering a fast and scenic route. Runners enjoy several miles on mostly paved Rails-to-Trails paths along the Lackawanna River, passing through 14 communities.
The event supports St. Joseph’s Center in Scranton, having donated over $2.5 million since 1996. The marathon also includes a wheelchair/handcycle division, fostering an inclusive and competitive atmosphere for all participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
