Event overview
The Storybook Half Marathon takes place in Roosevelt Forest, 700 Peters Lane, Stratford, CT. The event is a trail half marathon of 13.1 miles, run as eight laps of a 1.64-mile marked loop. Participants listed for the event include runners, joggers, ruckers, hikers, and walkers. Runners are allowed up to four hours to complete the course.
Registration is final with no refunds, bib transfers, or deferrals. Registration closes on Wed, Nov 18. Participants must be 18 years or older to enter without a parental waiver. CDC, state, and local health guidance will be followed.
Course, logistics, and extras
The loop is on singletrack and doubletrack trails and includes roots, rocks, and gently rolling hills. A main pavilion aid station provides hydration and snacks on every lap. Porta potties will be located near the pavilion. Parking space is limited; larger vehicles should use the side lot and RVs are not allowed.
The event hosts a book drive in partnership with Books4Everyone to collect new and gently used children’s books for local organizations. Every participant will receive a Storybook Half Marathon medallion and non-alcoholic beer from Athletic Brewing; race shirts and additional swag are available for purchase. Podium awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers, and prizes will be awarded for costumes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
