Event overview
The 4th annual Sugg Farm Ultra is on September 12, 2026, at Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park, Grigsby Ave, Holly Springs, NC. The event offers trail race distances of 20 miles, 40 miles, and 50 miles plus a pacer entry category. Registration opens December 16, 2025 and closes September 5, 2026; there are limited spots for each distance. The race organizer states no refunds, no bib transfers, and no deferments.
Course and race details
The course is a roughly 5-mile out-and-back loop on mulch, gravel, and singletrack with some hills and two separate aid stations. Runners complete repeated out-and-backs to reach advertised distances:
- 20 miles - four out-and-backs
- 40 miles - eight out-and-backs
- 50 miles - ten out-and-backs
Each distance has a 12-hour time limit. Aid stations between the start/finish and the 2.5-mile turnaround include water, Tailwind, soda, fruit, candy, granola bars, bacon, pancakes, quesadillas, PB&J, avocado wraps, pizza, chips, and cookies. The event is cupless; participants should use a handheld, portable cup, or hydration vest/belt. One pacer is allowed on the final lap of each runner’s race; pacers must register, complete a waiver before registration closes, and check in at the Admin Tent to pick up a bib. Event registration includes a 2026 event T-shirt and stickers; all finishers receive a medal and top three male and female finishers in each distance receive awards.
