Summer Trail Classic

Summer Trail Classic takes place on August 24, 2025 at Paul Douglas Forest Preserve in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The event offers three trail distances: approximately 4 miles, 9.5 miles, and 13 miles, forming the third stop in the Dick Pond Athletics Darn Tough Trail Race Series. Runners navigate twisting single-track trails through the preserve; a newly restored sled hill adds a challenging feature for the longer courses.

The race can shift to asphalt bike paths if weather makes the trails unusable. Proceeds benefit CAMBr, supporting Chicago-area mountain biking and trail maintenance. Sponsors provide post-race awards for overall and age-group winners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
