Swanzey Covered Bridges Half-Marathon

The Swanzey Covered Bridges Half-Marathon, also known as Elijah's Race, is an annual running event held in Swanzey, New Hampshire, in memory of founder Elijah Barrett. The mostly flat and fast 13.1-mile course features gentle rolling hills with 300-400 feet of elevation gain, showcasing historic pre-Civil War covered bridges such as Thompson, Carlton, and Cresson. The route includes paved roads, a section of improved railroad bed, and about a mile of dirt trails, forming a counter-clockwise loop finishing at Monadnock Regional Middle-High School.
