Swanzey Covered Bridges Half-Marathon

The Swanzey Covered Bridges Half-Marathon, also known as Elijah's Race, is an annual running event held in Swanzey, New Hampshire, in memory of its founder Elijah Barrett. The half-marathon features a mostly flat and fast course with gentle rolling hills, covering just over 13 miles with 300-400 feet of elevation gain. Runners experience scenic views of historic New England, passing through pre-Civil War covered bridges such as Thompson, Carlton, and Cresson.

The route includes paved roads, a section of improved railroad bed, and about a mile of dirt trails, finishing at Monadnock Regional Middle-High School.
