Swanzey Covered Bridges Half-Marathon

The Swanzey Covered Bridges Half Marathon, also known as Elijah's Race, is an annual running event held in Swanzey, New Hampshire, honoring its founder Elijah Barrett. The mostly flat and fast course features gentle rolling hills and covers just over 13 miles, showcasing historic covered bridges such as Thompson, Carlton, and Cresson, dating back to the pre-Civil War era. The route includes paved roads, a section of improved railroad bed, and about a mile of dirt trails, offering scenic views of southwestern New England.
