Sweet Ride

Sweet Ride in Willow Springs, Illinois offers a multi-distance fundraiser along the Des Plaines River and through a local nature preserve. Participants choose from a 5K run/walk, a 40K all-paved bike, or a 65K bike that includes roughly 25K of crushed gravel. The largely trail-based course follows the Des Plaines river corridor, with a mix of paved and gravel sections on the I&M Canal and Centennial Trails.

Helmets are required; water refills are available on the 40K turnaround and 65K route, and riders must carry their own bottle. Proceeds support diabetes care and research in greater Chicago, plus a post-race gathering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
